Engelse Setter

The English Setter is a middle big, long haired pointer with middle long hangings. This pet reaches in average a hight from 65 to 68 cm (male dogs; female dogs 61 - 65 cm). The head is long and dry with oval skull, emphasized forehead furrow and well drawn stop. Slightly deep is the long fang, almost rectangular and with dry lips. The wide nose is with black-white dogs black, otherwise brown til liver-coloured. It owns a scissors set of teeth. Its dark brown eyes look softly, the ears are modestly long and covered with fine, silky hair. The strong, elegantly lined neck follows the strong, but nevertheless not too voluminous body with short back. Typical for the English Setter is the tail that looks similar to a flag.

The legs are strong, full of muscles and straight. The English Setter has got from the ears slightly waved long and silky hair. It exists in the following colours: white with black, white with yellow (like a lemmon), orange, white with liver-colour or three-coloured (white, black and tawny). Prefered are English Setters with points. The English Setter shows as pointer a good nose, quick search, plenty of will to retrieve and is not afraid of water, so you can go to the lake with it. The English Setter is descended from the Spanish Pointer Perdigueros and long haired Spaniels and in the United Kingdom of Northern Ireland and Great Britain it has been breeding purely for a long time...
